Hey there!

Boise Family walking in field
Boise Photographer Katie Chavez with photo awards

I’m Katie, a Boise native who’s lucky enough to be married to my high school sweetheart. We have three wonderful kids and an adorable bunch of pets, including three spoiled Goldendoodles—Romeo, Lady Juliett, and Pherrah—a 16-year-old Chihuahua who loves to snuggle, and three playful kitties.

I discovered my love for photography over 16 years ago when I picked up my first camera. Since then, I’ve been passionate about capturing families’ special moments. I’m thrilled to have won several awards for my Creative Art Photography and Lifestyle Documentary Portraits, and it’s an honor to have been featured in multiple magazines.

Summer is my absolute favorite season! My family and I love spending our time kayaking, biking, fishing, and camping. The great outdoors is our happy place, and it's one of the reasons we adore living in Idaho.

My middle name, Francelle (pronounced Fran-cell), is a cherished family name passed down from my great-grandmother to me and now to my daughter. I also have a big love for art and contemporary classical music. Lately, I’ve been exploring painting, inspired by my grandmother’s amazing artistic talent.

My ultimate goal is to play the piano at an advanced level—though right now, I can only manage "Chopsticks." For downtime, you’ll find me enjoying documentaries, sci-fi movies, or laughing along with "The Office."

I’m also a huge animal lover—if I could run an animal sanctuary, I’d be over the moon! My daughter shares this love and tries to adopt every creature that comes our way, bugs included. Thankfully, my husband is incredibly supportive and a real champ!
