My goal is to create a relaxed experience that takes the pressure off so you can simply focus on being together.
Rather than forcing stiff poses, sessions are guided in a natural way, allowing for genuine connection, movement, and the little moments that often end up meaning the most. Francelles Photography offers natural and timeless family photography in Boise and throughout the Treasure Valley.

What to Expect
Family sessions focus on genuine connection and natural interaction. I’ll gently guide you throughout the session so you never feel unsure of what to do, while still leaving space for real moments to unfold. Before your session, I’ll also help with planning details like location and wardrobe, and you’ll have access to my client closet and styling guide to make preparing simple.
Outdoor Family Sessions
Most family sessions take place outdoors during the soft evening light. These sessions are relaxed and interactive, allowing families to walk, play, and move naturally together. I’ll guide you into beautiful light while encouraging connection and interaction, creating a mix of gently guided portraits and candid moments.
Studio Family Sessions
Studio sessions take place in my Boise studio, filled with soft natural light and neutral textures. The space includes both a lifestyle area for relaxed family interaction and a traditional portrait setting for classic images. The simple environment keeps the focus on your family while creating timeless photographs.
In-Home Family Sessions
In-home sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, documenting everyday moments in the spaces where your family life happens. These sessions often include snuggling on the couch, reading together, playing with the kids, or spending time in favorite rooms around the house, resulting in photographs that feel especially personal.
Sessions move at a comfortable pace for both parents and children, resulting in natural, timeless photographs that reflect your family just as you are.

We use Francelles Photography for all of our family portraits and milestones. She is worth it! We are always comfortable, never rushed, and she is so good with our son. My maternity pictures were a dream, she did our newborn pictures and now family pictures. I know I’ll never be disappointed!

Family Session FAQ
Family sessions can be scheduled year-round, but to ensure availability, especially during busy times like Spring, Fall and Holidays, it’s recommended to book 4-6 weeks in advance.
Family sessions typically focus on your immediate family, including parents and children. This is a wonderful opportunity to capture the love and connection shared in your everyday family moments. If you're looking to include extended family, such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins, I offer extended family sessions as well. These sessions allow for larger groups and usually take a bit longer to ensure we capture everyone in the family. Just let me know if you're interested in adding extended family to your session!
Yes, of course! I love capturing pets as part of the family. Just let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly, and be sure to bring any necessary items for them, like a leash, favorite toy, and possibly someone not included in the session to help with care when we take photos without your pet included.
Family sessions typically last around 60-90 minutes, depending on the location and the pace of the session. I make sure to allow plenty of time for breaks and to capture everyone at their best.
The best thing you can do is keep it relaxed and positive. Let them know you’re going to take some family photos and that it will be fun. Avoid putting pressure on them to “behave” or “smile perfectly.” Kids do best when they feel free to be themselves. Make sure they are well rested and have had a snack beforehand. A little bribery is completely welcome too. Promising ice cream or a fun treat afterward can work wonders. During the session I’ll guide things in a playful, relaxed way so kids can move, explore, and interact naturally. Often the best photos come from those in-between moments.
I recommend soft, neutral tones and simple, classic clothing to keep the focus on connection. I also offer a client wardrobe with dresses for moms and children outfits. You will receive a prep and wardrobe guide to help you feel confident and ready for your session.
No problem at all. I’ve worked with kids of all ages and know how to keep sessions relaxed and fun. Children don’t need to sit still or smile perfectly for us to create beautiful images. We’ll go with the flow, give everyone space to feel comfortable, and let their personalities lead the way. Even if there’s a little hesitation at first, kids usually warm up quickly, and we’re still able to capture beautiful, authentic moments along the way.
Yes, 20 Digital Images, chosen by you, are included in all Family Sessions! Additional digital images and printed items can be purchased after viewing your proofing gallery if desired. Digital Images are delivered via the online gallery and instant download.
