When is the best time of day for my session? When Outdoors: Golden hour is when i do 95% of my sessions to capture that amazing warm sun glow you see in a lot of my images. This will be within the last hour before the sun completely sets. I understand that small children may have bed times before then, especially in the summer time. The last thing we want is a grumpy tired kiddo, so we are always able to plan a few hours earlier in a location that provides ample shade. I am also able to do morning sessions on the weekends. We tend to start those within an hour after sunrise. When Indoors: Indoor sessions can take place between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm.
-
Do you pick the location of our session? Not exactly. I do have a list of recommended locations that i prefere us to shoot at but you ultimatily have the say of were you would like your session to be.
-
Do you do sessions outside of Boise?Yes! I love going to destination locations for session. All sessions within 15 miles of Boise are included in the session fee. Locations outside or that area will have a travel fee.
-
What if the weather is bad and our session is outdoors?I track the weather like a weather woman. I will usually be two steps ahead with monitoring for our session. The only weather that we can not shoot in is heavy rain, wind and storms and if that happens, although it’s an inconvenience, we will simply reschedule to the soonest day that we both are available. Idaho weather changes from minute to minute. I usually make the decidsion to reschedule either the day before or morning of the session at the earlierst.
-
Do you shoot on weekends?Yes! Altho I do try and have some time off for my family on the weekends, I do offer weekend sessions with a premium day fee if you are unable to make a weekday work.
-
Will my photos be edited?Yes! For those images ordered as digitals or printed products. This includes image toning to match my clean and colorful style and light skin retouching. Anything that is temporary from blemishes, to bruises to wild hair strands will be retouched. Skin softening is also included. I can make someone thinner, remove all their wrinkles or give them more hair but this type of editing is not something that is included. If that or something like that is a concern, we can definitely talk more about additional post-production edits.
-
Do you pick our images?Nope. I belive photography is personal. I want you to see your photos and decide which are the best of the best.
-
Do you offer digitals?Absolutly! After all, we do live in a digital world. Digitals may be purchased after viewing your proofs.
-
Do I order Prints through you?I highly recommend ordering your wall art, prints and albums through me. I use exclusive professional print labs that my editing software is collaborated with which ensures your printed products look as they are intended too. I’m able to quality check all your prints and guarantee all products. Did I mention they are some of the most beautiful, printed products available? Let me do all the leg work for you!
-
When will i get to see and select my images?Approximately 7-10 days after your session I will have your online proofing gallery ready for you to view all your lovely images. From there you will select your favorite images you would like to keep and order you digitals and/or printed products.
-
When is payment for the session due?Session fees are due at booking as retainer to reserve your desired date and time along with the signing of a session agreement. Images are purchased after your session.
-
Do you take payments?Yes! I offer payment plans on all Digital and Printed Products Orders.
-
Do you have a studio?I do! The studio is set up in a lovely lifestyle setting with an amazing wall of floor to ceiling windows. The studio is located in Boise and is available for family, maternity, newborn and milestone session.
-
How soon should I book my Newborn Session?I recommend booking your newborn sessions around the 20-25 week mark. I block off to only a certain amount of sessions around your due date to insure I can adjust your actual session date for after baby arrives.
-
How old should baby be when we have our Newborn Session?I recommend having your newborn session within the first 14 days of babies arrival. They change and grow so quickly! We want to capture their fresh squishiness and those two weeks are the best time.
-
Do you have props?I do! Every time I'm out shopping I see things and wonder, "could I put a baby in that?" Lol, but really, I have a plethora of baskets, blankets, wraps, outfits and accessories. I have you covered!
-
How soon should I schedule my Maternity Session?Booking your maternity session ahead of time is very important to make sure we can get you scheduled within the 30-35 week mark. A good rule of thumb is around your 20 week mark to get booked.
-
Maternity Wardrobe, what do I wear?Getting a beautiful dress for Maternity portraits might seems pointless if you wont be wearing it again, I know, but getting something that makes you feel amazing is really important. I have a client closet with Maternity Gowns to use during your session so that you don't have to purchase something to use only once. This is in the making still, so if I don't have an item you like, I am always open to you purchasing a gown from my Wishlist and me exchanging that dress with you after your session towards image and printed product credit.
-
What if baby comes before my scheduled Maternity Session?Delivery can some times come much earlier than we anticipate. If this is to happen, your session fee will be credited for you to use towards another session within 6 months of your original session date.
-
How soon should we schedule our Family Session? The sooner the better! Sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Popular times such as Fall & Spring book quickly as do Weekends.
-
What should we wear to our Family Session?Finding your wardrobe for a shoot can be stressful, I get it! Especially when you have several people to coordinate. My suggestion is sticking to Neutral or Earth tone colors. You will also have access to our client closet wardrobe and our amazing Style Me Tool to help with all things clothing and accessories. I also have a blog post explaining in more detail how to coordinate. I love to help, I'm just a text or phone call away if you need more assistance.

What if my Child(ren) don't co-operate?I like to make a connection with little ones before we even begin the session. I want your children to feel comfortable around me and know that this is a safe and fun time. If your child is shy, I will try not to pry if they are very uncomfortable. I never want you to feel defeated during your session if your little one doesn't have the same game plan as we do. I like to keep posing quick since littles don't sit still for long. A lot of times giving children the freedom to be spontaneous makes for the best portraits. Capturing a child’s unique expressions while they are caught up in the moment with themselves or with a parent or sibling makes for some of the most meaningful photos. I will help with getting us positioned nicely and then from there be ready for some fun prompts for snuggles, tickles, playing, and just being natural together.
