What to Expect during your Newborn Session
Newborn sessions are calm, flexible, and centered on your baby and your immediate family. Each session moves at your baby’s pace, with time for feeding, soothing, and quiet snuggles. Whether in my Boise studio or the comfort of your own home, the goal is to capture the love, connection, and tenderness of these first days.
Studio Newborn Sessions
Soft, timeless, and effortlessly prepared. When you arrive at the studio, everything is ready for you. Warm, calm, and welcoming. Natural light fills the space, and soft neutrals and textures create a serene backdrop for your baby. We create a mix of gentle posed portraits and natural family moments, using simple wraps, props, and wardrobe options for parents. Parents and siblings are always included, resulting in a full gallery that celebrates your family bond.
In-Home Newborn Sessions
Honest, intimate, and deeply personal. These sessions happen in your home, where your baby’s first days are naturally unfolding. Rather than posed setups, we focus on real moments. Rocking in the nursery, cuddles on the couch, snuggled on the bed. The session moves at your family’s rhythm, capturing the love, connection, and little details that make this season unique.

It’s best to book during your second or third trimester to ensure availability. Once your baby arrives, we’ll finalize the session date.
The ideal time for a newborn session is between 5-14 days old, when babies are sleepiest and curl up naturally. However, I can still create beautiful images for older newborns as well.
Sessions take place in our lovely studio located in Boise, Idaho. In-home, lifestyle sessions are also available.
Newborn sessions are unrushed and typically last between 2-3 hours, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and cuddles.
Yes! I have a curated collection of soft, timeless outfits, wraps, and accessories to style your baby beautifully. You’re also welcome to bring anything special.
Absolutely! Family and sibling portraits are encouraged and create beautiful, heartfelt memories.
I’ll send a prep guide before your session, but keeping baby warm, well-fed, and sleepy before arriving helps create a smooth session.
Some babies are naturally more alert or fussy, and that’s okay. I adapt the session to your baby’s needs, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and cuddles so we can capture beautiful, natural images.
I recommend soft, neutral tones and simple, classic clothing to keep the focus on connection. I also offer a client wardrobe with dresses for moms and young siblings.
Yes, 20 Digital Images, chosen by you, are included in all Newborn Sessions! Additional digital images and printed items can be purchased after viewing your proofing gallery if desired. Digital Images are delivered via the online gallery and instant download.
